Members of the Lovell
Volunteer Fire Dept. will
be better able to respond to
vehicle crashes and other
emergencies thanks to the
recent purchase of a new
extrication truck.
Chief Jim Minchow said
the truck, a 2012 Interna-
tional 4400 with a Spartan
fire truck body, will replace
the current Truck 51, which
is 13 years old. It was made
by Crimson Fire Service of
Ocala, Fla and sold to the
LVFD by Carl Becker, for-
merly with Becker Fire Ser-
vice of Casper.
"It is a bigger truck and
will run the mountain eas-
ier and also has an engine
brake for coming off the
mountain," Minchow said.
The fire truck has a

Leftists by any other name: liberals, progressives,
Democrats, socialists, Marxists, communists - it's a
matter of degree. However, all roads lead to Marx.
Marxism fostered the idea that an enlightened
elite was better positioned to grant prosperity;
individualism and capitalism was contrary to the
common good and must be stopped.
Yes, progressives are utopians. They live in
a dream world where they see all societal flaws
as attributable to the perceived injustices of the
American free market system.
In the mind of today's Progressives, the Constitution is "evolving" with no permanent
guiding principles. Progressives detest the Declaration of Independence which enshrines the
protection of individual natural rights as unchangeable and gifts from God.
Another influence of the left was Max Weber, a German 19th century sociologist, who
argued that Protestantism/Christianity promoted capitalism and free enterprise. Thus, the
Protestant work ethic. Weber's theory was the roots of the left's hatred,to all things Judeo-
Christian. Kill 'In God we Trust' and you kill capitalism.
There are many popular institutions that are dedicated to the left and subversive to
American ideals. The American Civil Liberties Union was founded in 1920 by Roger Baldwin,
an avowed Communist who sought the destruction of American society. The ACLU was the
tool. In 1935, he wrote: "1 seek the abolition of the propertied class and sole control of
those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal." Hence, the ACLU war against God,
morality, and the Constitution.
Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger Who was a passionate believer in
eugenics, that is, selective breeding. Ms. Sanger said: The most merciful thing that a family
does to one of its infant members is to kill it." Abortion, at any stage, is their main function.
The sixties and seventies saw the flowering of Marxism in America. The author Saul
Alinsky, is the hero to many on the left including Hillary Clinton ("Plato on the barricades"),
Chris Matthews, etc. Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals",(1971) a primer for leftist radicals.
All you need to know about Alinsky is written in his forward, dedicating his book to Lucifer
"the first radical who at least won his own kingdom."
The most influential concept comes from two radical Columbia University professors
Richard Cloward, and Francis Fox Piven. They taught that a violent revolution must be
preceded by an orchestrated economic collapse. That is, Leftists must do whatever they can
to overburden the capitalist system, thereby destroying it. That is, "community organizers"
(sound familiar) must recruit as many on the welfare rolls and create as much dependency
as possible, wherein the debt would be so large that America would go bankrupt. They put
their theory into practice in New York City in 1975 causing the city to teeter on the edge of
bankruptcy. It worked! I saw it all first hand.
Attending San Francisco State University in 1976, one of my professors, an unapologetic
Communist, spent an entire year pointing to this Cloward-Piven strategy, indoctrinating
students that this method of overburdening the system is and will be used to bring about the
Marxist state.
I ask you to review where we now stand economically, and morally as a nation. We have
an astounding 16 trillion dollars in debt, borrow 40 cents out of every dollar we spend. Our
credit rating has been lowered for the first time in history! Government refuses to take any
action to lower spending. We are on the edge of implosion.
The crises we now face is not the fault of only liberal Democrats. They had willing
partners in the form of "Republicans," federal and state, who simply wanted to "get along," or
who bought the leftist "social justice" agenda. They should have known better.
Wyoming is a unique and remarkable place, an island of sanity in a sea of chaos,
the way America was and should be. However, with the help of so called "well-
meaning Republican legislators," it's changing, and not for the better, ff we are not
vigilant we will be in grave danger of losing what we are as a free people, and a
sovereign state.
There is a solution to the problem with "Progressives." Don't vote for them. A hint
of who they are is when they tell you a sad story, bring out the "crying towel" and support
increased federal control and legislation, another nail in our coffin.
