No U-Turn signs downtown
The Cowley Weekly Progress,
July 6, 1912
Train service has become so de-
moralized by reason of the heavy
rains of the week that they are run-
ning on anything but schedule time
and come in and go out whenever it
pleases their convenience. Quite a se-
rious washout is reported in the vicin-
ity of Sheep Mountain on the branch
line.
The Lovell Chronicle, July 8, 1937
New stop signs are being placed
on side streets this week and as soon
as ready, No U-Turn signs will be
placed at the four downtown intersec-
tions of Main Street. These signs are
being erected to carry out the chang-
es adopted by the city council some
weeks ago, when they decided that
Lovell needed some modernizing in
regard to traffic rules and regulations.

The Lovell Chronicle, July 5, 1962
Lovell's water intake system is
again safe after one complete washout
of the dike and another near wash-
out last Wednesday following heavy
rainstorms and hot weather, increas-
ing the amount of the snow runoff in
the mountains above the Buffalo Bill
dam.
The Lovell Chronicle, July 9, 1987
Chad Lindsay of Lovell recently
returned from the Western Region 11
Junior Olympic Championships held
in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he cap-
tured first place in the shot put event.
Lindsay placed first at the meet with
a heave of 51 feet, which qualified him
for the second straight year for the
National Junior Olympics Champion-
ship in Prove, Utah, to be held July
20-25.

Restrooms remodeled
at Hyart Theatre
BY DAVID PECK
For the first time in many years, the restrooms at the
Hyart Theatre have hot, running water thanks to a remod-
eling project under way at the historic theater.
Theater Manager Jessica Carr said the $11,000 proj-
ect was made possible for the nonprofit Hyart Redevelop-
ment Corp. by a generous donation from Ken and Darece
Grant and Midway Auto Sales.
The hot water is provided by a new hot-water-on-de-
mand system installed in the restrooms, and the remodel-
ing project also includes new partitions, mirrors, lighting,
toilets and sinks, as well as a fresh coat of paint.
"We're keeping the original tile," Carr said.
Jim's Building Service is the contractor on the project,
Carr said, and the project should be completed soon.
""It's going to be nice to have everything updated," she
said.
