District Mission: Our students will have the knowledge and skills to become ethical, respomible, productive dtizens and life-lung learners. Board Expectations: The Board recognizes the accountability placed upon it by Federal requirements, the State of Wyoming and the patrons of Big Horn County School District #2. The Board willingly accepts the responsibility to improve student achievement for each student. The Board's implementation of its educational responsibilities as stated in the Iw.adership Governance Mission and Vision statement is specified in the Iw.adership Governance Expectations. All schools in Big Horn County School District #2 will meet Adequate Yearly Progress annually as defined by federal and state criteria. All schools in Big Horn County School District #2 will provide instruction and measure student performance on standards contained in the common core of knowledge and skills as outlined in W.S. 21-9-101. These areas will be monitored through District approved curriculum. All schools in Big Horn County School District #2 will provide a safe and orderly environment as measured by NCA climate surveys. All schools in Big Horn County School District #2 will provide additional learning opportunities beyond the core curriculum. Examples indude, but are not limited to: enrichment, gifted and talented programs, remediarion, after-school programs, extra-curricular programs, alternative programs, advanced placement options and concurrent enrollment opportunities. Each student in Big Horn County School District #2 will improve their achievement for grade level expectations in Reading, Math, Science, and Writing as measured by the district triangulation of data. The Board recognizes that graduation rates are a validation of education. Therefore, Big Horn County School District #2 will strive towards a 100% high school graduation rate (as defined by the State of Wyoming and District) and a 0% drop-out rate each year improving upon the four year average on an annual bash. The Superintendent will provide the Board a student achievement report by October of each year detailing the progress of student achievement as specified in these Expectations. The Board, by policy will hold itself accountable to provide the Superintendent the resources needed to meet Board Achievement Expectations. Wyoming law requires that any child whose seventh (7th) birthday falls on or before the 15 * day of September of any year and who has not attained his 16 b birthday or completed the 10  grade must attend school. Any student may register in the first (1st) grade in the year in which his sixth (6th) birthday fails on or before September 15 . Kindergarten students may register in the year in which their fifth (5th) birthday falls on or before September 15% Our schools welcome and encourage your involvement.
