I have lived in Byron for the last 39 years, during which time I have had the opportunity to work 11 years as school superintendent, 20 years with NEPECO and am now trying to become an
independent businessman.
I was born in Greybull and raised most of my life in Byron. I attended Byron High School and after graduation I attended Northwest College and then Brigham Young University, where I
received a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I received my master's degree from Kansas State University. I taught fifth grade for six years in Cuba, Kan. and then became a principal
in LaCrosse, Kan. for eight years. I decided to move home to Byron and be closer to family so I applied and got a principal job for Big Horn County School District No. 1. I was middle school
principal for two years and then added elementary for an additional 2 years. During the past five years I have been the principal at Rocky Mountain Elementary in Cowle~
What prompted you to seek office or to seek re-election?

I disapprove of the reference to the mayor and the council as the "governing board." Our citizens do not need to be governed. I see the role of mayor and council as facilitators of the public
good and the protectors of individual rights.
that I became involved rather than just sitting back and watching.

I have had the pleasure of serving two terms as mayor in Byron, one term on the council, six years as municipal judge, a term on the Byron Cemetery District Board, and a member of the
town's planning and zoning commission.

I would like to see the mayor and the council adopt the philosophy of"keep it simple and within budget, keep it fair and equitable to everyone, and keep it open and honest."
I would like to work toward the day that everyone in town feels that they are a part of the decision making process and that their thoughts and ideas would be considered.
Karma I would like to see the town (council and mayor) work to help people. Many problems can be resolved if you listen and try to find ways to help. People move to a small community because
Sanders they desire that kind of lifestyle. I would like to see that small town lifestyle maintained and at the same time help the people in the community receive the services that they need.

Karma I bring my years of experience in school administration. I hope that this experience will help me stay focused on the issues, keep a level head, listen and then make wise decisions.

Vote for
JACK CORDNER

Give your wallet a rest! Saving money, not
large projects, will be my number one priority. Any
saved money should, first, be used to avoid increases in
water/garbage rates. After that, any more savings
should be passed-on as rate or property tax roll:backs.
A "hands-on"Mayor. I will keep in touch with
the day-to-day operation of the Town. No town should
be left running unsupe]wised. As a retiree, nay days of
punching a time clock are over. My family obligations
are limited. I am ready, and able, to devote the time to
get things right--the first time around.
I'd like to hear from you. E-mail me at:
