not the case for him as a
sixth grader,” coach Joshua
Sanders said. '

hind him was eighth—grad-
er Jacob Thomas in 12th at

with some of the kids who
have been in the program
for three years,” Sand—
ers said. “They have really
improved their time from
their sixth—grade ear. All
the runners finis ed the
race with aggression. Now
they just need to pick up
the pace on the first half of
the race.”
ROCKY MOUNTAIN

“Ellie and Evynn Alva—
rez ran their best times of
the year,” Jones said. “We
are just working on getting
a little better every day.
Cross country is a sport
that, in order to be suc—
cessful, you have to run
with a little pain. You have
to push your limits to see
improvement.
“We are trying to push
our runners to get com—
fortable hurting a little.
Life is full of uncomfortable
situations. If you can learn
to work through them, you
have won half the battle.
Many people just quit if it
gets too difficult. That’s
why I enjoy coaching cross
country so much. It teaches
great life lessons.”
The Lovell and Rocky
harriers are scheduled to
compete at the Worland In-
vitational today (Thursday)
at 3 pm.
