PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) has
given Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU) authority to pass on
a wholesale natural gas cost [i] decreases of $0.666 per decatherm
(Dth) for Residential, Firm General Service, and Small and Large In-
terrupfible customers, $0.636 per Dth for Seasonal customers; and
[iii] an increase of $0.288 per Dth for Seasonal Firm customers. MDU
stated the proposed revisions will affect all of its Wyoming customers,
and are proposed to be effective for usage on and after October 1,
2012. The proposed pass-on will result in an estimated net decrease
of approximately $120,900 in MDU's revenues for October 2012 based
upon estimated sales volumes for the month. The proposed rate
changes are subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, opportu-
nity for hearing and such other orders as the Commission may deem
appropriate. MDU's current and proposed Residential customer
rates in dollars per Dth, are:

Default having occurred and all prerequisites to foreclosure

The average Residential customer using 7 Dths in October 2012
may expect a decrease of $4.66 or about 10.5% before taxes. Actual bills
will vary with usage. Customers served under other rate schedules
should contact MDU for details on how the changes will affect them.
The increase for Seasonal Firm General Gas Service is due to the
changeover to Winter Service pricing occurring on October 1.
Commission's Rules 249 and 250 allow a utility to pass on to its
customers known or prospective wholesale commodity cost increases
or decreases, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and
refund.
MDU's application is on file in its Wyoming business offices
and at the Commission's office in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and may be
inspected by any interested person during regular business hours.
Anyone desiring to file a public comment, statement, protest,
